Visual Exploration #1
The design process can vary and be molded to spark creativity. The most popular and taught process has around 5-6 steps which consists of the following:
Definition of the problem
Collection of information/Research
Brainstorm/Analysis of ideas
Development of potential solutions
Test for feedback
Improve following feedback.
While this framework provides designers with strategic problem-solving skills, sometimes you may want to start with step 3 before anything. While this is not the best way to proceed problem-solving, it can help with the fear of the blank page. For the project ‘Refraction’, instead of jumping in with the traditional step by step approach, I decided to explore visuals that were visual representations of refraction. This involved traditional and digital methods.
Below are the visuals that came out of this exploration of 'Refraction’.
From this visual exploration, a set of high resolution textures were developed.
